My short story 'Lupa di Roma' has been published by Title Goes Here Magazine in their October Web Edition (1.10).
The web editions are free to read so I encourage you to go and have a look.
I am very happy about this, and also very pleased with the way the story was described in the editorial. I doubt any description I'd written would have sounded nearly as impressive.
Apparently I've written Mythpunk. I didn't mean to, but as the story is based on the Roman foundation legend I guess it fits the subgenre.
Congratulations on getting your story published! I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought it was a great take on Rome's foundation myth.
ReplyDeleteI also had no idea mythpunk existed, so thanks for informing me. The more you know...
Mythpunk sounds epic. Yes, epic. It must be investigated further. Very clever idea - never seen any approach to Roman myth that uses animals to interact with gods. A pity they chose that font for the release - my eyes not ache - but a good read nonetheless!
ReplyDeleteThanks guys, glad you liked it. :)
ReplyDeleteMythpunk is a fairly new subgenre (though obviously the content riffs off very old themes). I only heard of it in the last 18 months, which is why I didn't realise I'd written it as I first wrote the original this story several years ago.
